NC-based soldier killed in Ohio after manhunt

A North Carolina-based soldier accused of killing his girlfriend in Ohio was shot and killed by authorities in Columbus early Friday, according to WBNS-TV in Ohio.

COLUMBUS, OHIO — A North Carolina-based soldier accused of killing his girlfriend in Ohio was killed by authorities in Columbus early Friday, according to WBNS-TV in Ohio.

Authorities shot Juvon Williams, 18, after a manhunt. He was accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend, Leigh Belyn, 18, of Columbus, the TV station reported. Her body was found in the trunk of a car in Westerville, Ohio. 

Williams, who was originally from Columbus, was on leave after finishing basic training and was scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan on Friday.

His twin brother was taken into custody for questioning. No other information was available.
