All lanes of I-40 West are closed from Harrison Avenue to Aviation Parkway due to multiple crashes on Thursday morning. The surrounding eastbound lanes are delayed. Drivers can take NC 54 as a detour.

EVERYONE IN THOSE THREE LEFT LANES ARE JUST SITTING THERE. THE ONLY WAY TO MOVE IS IF THEY CAN FIND AN EXIT. THERE IS NO REPORT OF ANY WAY TO GET OFF. HERE IS THE VIEW EVEN FARTHER BACK ON I-40 AT TRINITY ROAD. THE HIGHWAY IS CLOSED SO IF YOU'RE TRYING TO GET OUT, CHAPEL HILL, 54 IS YOUR BEST ROUTE TO TRY TO GET AROUND THAT CRASH. IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE USING THAT, YOU WILL BE SEEING THAT THE ROAD IS CLOSED, CURRENTLY.</p>
