N.C. Highway 27 was closed between Mt. Olive Church Road and Norrington Road in Lillington Sunday night after a crash left the road covered with two-by-fours. 

<b>LILLINGTON, N.C.</b> — N.C. Highway 27 was closed between Mt. Olive Church Road and Norrington Road in Lillington Sunday night after a crash left the road covered with two-by-fours.

State troopers say a red car going north on Norrington Road ran a stop sign and T-boned a tractor-trailer carrying two-by-four planks of wood going west on N.C. 27. The truck flipped, spilling wood everywhere.

The driver of the red car was taken to Cape Fear Medical Center with serious injuries and is expect to recover. The truck driver was not injured, according to the Highway Patrol.
