SALISBURY, N.C. — A car crash in Salisbury killed a 16-year-old and injured three others on Sunday morning.
Alex Garcia was driving an SUV when he lost control and crashed into a tree, officials said. He was transported to the hospital for injuries but has since been released and is expected to be okay.
During the crash, an 18-year-old and 16-year-old were injured. Both are in critical condition at Rowan Regional Medical Center, according to officials.
Another 16-year-old died in the crash.
Garcia was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to maintain his lane of travel.
Speed and drug use are suspected in the crash.
