Nash marijuana operation busted

Officers from the Nash County Sheriff's Department and the state probation office raided a home Tuesday and seized marijuana and cocaine.

MIDDLESEX, N.C. — Officers from the Nash County Sheriff's Department and the state probation office raided a home Tuesday and seized marijuana and cocaine.

Officers removed 42 marijuana plants, 110 grams of marijuana and one gram of cocaine from the home – and estimated street value of $101,000.

Jeremy Richard Barnes, of 9533 Stoney Hill Church Road in Middlesex, was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, felony possession of cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for the keeping and storage of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was being held in the Nash County detention facility under a $50,000 secured bond.
