Nash County father, son arrested, charged with rash of break-ins, thefts

A Nash County father and son have been arrested and are facing charges in a rash of felony breaking and entering, larcenies and attempted breaking and entering cases.

NASHVILLE, N.C. — A Nash County father and son have been arrested and are facing charges in a rash of felony breaking and entering, larcenies and attempted breaking and entering cases.

Melvin Ray Edmondson Jr., the father, was charged with one count of failure to change address as a sex offender, five counts of felony break/enter, five counts of felony larceny, three counts of misdemeanor larceny and one felony attempt break/enter. A secured bond of $130,000 was set. Thomas Ray Edmondson was charged with five counts of felony break/enter, five counts of felony larceny, three counts of misdemeanor larceny, and one felony attempt break/enter. A secured bond of $102,000 was set.

Deputies with the Nash County Sheriff's Office said they responded to eight calls for service that ranged from breaking into storage buildings, residences and vehicles, which also allowed the suspects to commit several larcenies one they entered these locations. The suspects were targeting lawn equipment, appliances and tools.

Security camera footage from one of the victims allowed deputies to identify the suspects and later arrest them.

A Nashville District Court date for both suspects was set for May 14.
