Narrow miss: Car crashes into Raleigh apartment, nearly hitting woman asleep in bed

A man and woman were literally shaken awake overnight when a car struck their apartment building on McMakin Street near Carnage Middle School in Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A man and woman were literally shaken awake overnight when a car struck their apartment building on McMakin Street near Carnage Middle School in Raleigh.

The crash caused heavy damage to the apartment, and the car nearly struck a woman in her bed when the inside wall was pushed to within only inches of her as she slept.

A witness said the car struck the building then sped off.

There were no injuries reported.

The Red Cross is helping the family while the apartment is repaired.

Raleigh Police are investigating.
