N.C. State Fair cancels King Arthur Flour Cooking Contest due to flour recall
The North Carolina State Fair has canceled its King Arthur Flour Special Cooking Contest, which was to be held on October 27, due to the recent King Arthur Flour recall.

“Safety is our number one priority at the Fair,” said Kent Yelverton, fair manager. “That extends not only to our fairgoers, but also to the judges who determine competition winners. We want to make all competitors aware of the expanded recall, whether you are part of a cake or cookie competition or are using flour in other competitive areas. Expanded recall information will also be distributed to our food vendors.”
King Arthur Flour Recall Details
King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour, in 5 lb. and 25 lb. bags, has been recalled nationwide due to the possible presence of E. coli.
On October 3, 2019, in association with ADM Milling Company, King Arthur Flour, Inc., announced the voluntary national recall of select Unbleached All-Purpose Flour (5 lb. & 25 lb.).
The recalled product was distributed by King Arthur Flour through retailers and distributors nationwide, and sold through their website, catalogue, and store in Norwich, VT.
