RALEIGH, N.C. — Here's a fun one for art lovers of all ages ...

The N.C. Museum of Art will host its third annual Monster Drawing Rally at 5:30 p.m., Aug. 24.

Here's the description: 75 artists at all stages of their careers take shifts to draw for an hour in front of a live audience, bringing their private studio practices to the public. As spectators spy on the creative process, sketches morph into full-fledged works of art made from collage, watercolor, ink, and graphite. Finished drawings are immediately available for $50 each.

The evening also includes a collaborative art project, music, monster movies, and food trucks including American Meltdown, Cousins Main Lobster, Bulkogi, and Two Roosters.

Tickets are on sale now. They are $10 and free for kids under 6. Tickets are required (and it's best to get them in advance). The museum's website has the details.
