RALEIGH, N.C. — On Friday, the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences will unveil its newest 3D movie - "Dinosaurs of Antarctica."

The movie follows a "new generation of intrepid Antarctic scientists on a quest to understand the ice continent’s profound transformation — from a warm and biodiverse Mesozoic to the frozen desert we know today — and to predict the future as humans drive dramatic change," according to the museum.

If that isn't your speed, there are two other movies showing at the WRAL 3D Theater inside the museum:

  • “Incredible Predators” deconstructs the world of major predators as never before, taking an intimate look at the remarkable strategies they use to succeed. Advanced filming techniques expose the planet’s top predators in extraordinary footage, putting the audience right beside them as they hunt — on land, under the sea or in the air.
  • “Volcanoes: The Fires of Creation” is a tale of science, culture and thrilling adventure. Earth is a planet born of fire. For billions of years, volcanoes have helped forge the world we know. From the continents to the air we breathe and even life itself, all have been shaped by volcanic energy. These processes have created extraordinary ecosystems and wildlife habitats.

Starting Friday, March 25, these will be showtimes for each (Tuesday through Sunday):

  • “Incredible Predators” - 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. [Run time 20 minutes.]
  • “Dinosaurs of Antarctica” - noon, 2 and 4 p.m. [Run time 20 minutes.]
  • “Volcanoes” - 1 p.m. [Run time 20 minutes.]

Tickets are available at the box office and are $6 for adults, $4 for children (ages 3 to 12 years old) and $3 for museum members.

All tickets come with a souvenir pair of 3D glasses.
