FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police on Thursday identified a man found dead at a Fayetteville home and said the investigation into his death is continuing.

The sister of Arturo Omar Walker, 36, of Lexington, found him in a home at 4522 Ruby Road around 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Fayetteville Police Chief Harold Medlock described the crime scene as "a pretty horrible situation" but has not said how Walker died.

Investigators have named Solomon Butler, 24, whose last known address was at the house, as a person of interest in the case.

He was in critical condition Thursday afternoon at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center after a police officer shot him Wednesday morning when he walked up on investigators and opened fire.
