A mural in downtown Raleigh is now complete and pays special honor to four professional women's soccer players. One of them is a local star.

The mural is outside the Morgan Street Food Hall. You can't miss the massive 18x20 mural on the side of the downtown Raleigh location. One of those soccer players in the mural is Abby Erceg, a defender for the North Carolina Courage.

The second Women's International Champions Cup will be held in Cary during the week of Aug. 15. The Courage are the defending champs, winning last year's first event in Miami.
The International Champions Cup mural is the work of Taylor White.

"The reaction has been great, we've had some attention from the players," White said.

We talked with White about her inspiration to paint four soccer stars on the brick building. The paintings are action shots and not profile shots.

"It's been great," White said. "This is a high traffic area. I get nothing but compliments, and sometimes enthusiastic ones. I've seen people come by and take pictures."

On Facebook, the Morgan Street Food Hall posted a photo this week of the North Carolina Courage snapping a photo in front of mural. They encourage others to do the same.

Taylor said it took her a week to complete, three gallons of paint and and lots to complete.
