Motorist charged in Cary hit-and-run

Police charged a motorist Sunday in connection with a hit-and-run at North Harrison Avenue and Chapel Hill Road in Cary.

CARY, N.C. — Police charged a motorist Sunday in connection with a hit-and-run at North Harrison Avenue and Chapel Hill Road in Cary.

The bicyclist, Gustavo A. Angalo, 26, of Cary, was struck from behind by a vehicle at about 9:45 p.m. Saturday, police said.

The driver left the scene but police released a description of the car and license plate number.

The person thought to be driving the car, Kristen Marie Snipes, 26, was arrested Sunday in Lancaster, S.C., and charged with felony hit and run, police said.

Angalo was taken to WakeMed in Raleigh where he was listed in fair condition Sunday.

Snipes, of  Morrisville, was being held in S.C. while awaiting extradition to North Carolina.
