RALEIGH, N.C. — A motorcyclist suffered only minor injuries after crashing into a tree early Sunday morning.

Crews at the scene told WRAL News the rider lost control of his bike, struck a curve and then hit a tree at the intersection of McNeil Street and Nobel Road, located off Wake Forest Road.

A neighbor reported hearing a "speeding" motorcycle before the crash and told WRAL News they feared the worse.
