DURHAM, N.C. — A motorcyclist was injured after a crash in Durham. The driver who police say is responsible fled from the scene of the crash.

The driver of a Honda Accord was traveling west on Angier Avenue and trying to turn left on Pleasant Drive when they hit the motorcyclist, according to police.

Police say that the driver of the Honda failed to yield to right of way.

After the crash, the man stopped briefly before fleeing he fled the scene, according to officials.

The motorcyclist, Juan Lopez of Morrisville, was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Durham Police Department is asking for the public's help in searching for the driver of the Honda Accord.

The 2019 gray Honda Accord has a Virginia license plate and a cover for the plate that says "Brown" on it. The "o" in Brown is replaced with a heart. The car is also likely missing a front right fog light cover.

The man is described by police as Black and in his 30s.
