A motorcyclist was speeding in Raleigh when he ran a red light and crashed into a car, officials said.

A motorcyclist was speeding in Raleigh when he ran a red light and crashed into a car, officials said.

Raleigh police shut down Six Forks Road in front of North Hills, where the crash happened early Saturday morning.

The motorcycle driver was taken the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Around the time of the crash, drivers were not able to exit the Interstate 440 betline at Six Forks Road for some time.

No other details were given to the public at this time.
