JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — A man was killed following a Sunday morning motorcycle crash in Johnston County.

Highway Patrol troopers said a motorcyclist failed to stop at the intersection of U.S. Highway 301 and Bagley Road and struck a Ford SUV at about 10:45 a.m.

The motorcyclist, 63-year-old Dennis Lee Jones, of Wilson, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two people in the SUV were taken to an area hospital for treatment, troopers said.

Authorities said a second, unrelated crash happened at the same location about two hours later, when two SUVs collided. Several people were taken to an area hospital as a result of the second crash, authorities said.
