A person died overnight after a motorcycle crash near Five Points.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A person died overnight after a motorcycle crash near Five Points.

On Friday around 12:30 a.m., officers with the Raleigh Police Department responded to the crash in the 1800 block of Glenwood Avenue near Fairview Road and Hayes Barton Pharmacy.

One person, identified as Stephen Gerard Kayatin, of Raleigh, died. No other vehicles were involved.

A crash report said Kayatin was traveling 55 mph in a 25 mph zone when he crashed.

The outbound lanes of Glenwood Avenue were blocked for four hours. An investigation was underway.
