A man was charged Monday evening after a deadly motorcycle crash on Holly Springs Road.



<b>CARY, N.C.</b> — A man was charged Monday evening after a deadly motorcycle crash on Holly Springs Road.

According to State Highway Patrol, a pickup truck hit a motorcycle at 7:36 p.m. just south of the Cary Parkway.

The State Highway Patrol said Charles Edward Dail III failed to yield right of way to a motorcycle and hit the driver as he was making a left turn into his driveway from Holly Springs Road.

The driver of the motorcycle, Gabrielle Hamed, 24, of Cary, died as a result of the accident.

Highway Patrol charged Dail with felony death by motor vehicle, failure to yield right of way, possession of an open container of alcohol and possession of a concealed handgun.

Holly Springs Road was closed in both directions and has since reopened.
