Motorcyclist dies in Morrisville wreck

A motorcyclist traveling 115 mph died in a wreck on Davis Drive near the Research Triangle Park Friday evening, the Highway Patrol said.

MORRISVILLE, N.C. — A motorcyclist traveling 115 mph died in a wreck on Davis Drive in Morrisville Friday evening, according to the state Highway Patrol.

Troopers said that Reemas Joel Burris, 40, of Durham, crossed a median and struck a vehicle near Kit Creek Road shortly before 8 p.m. He was thrown from the motorcycle and then hit another vehicle.

Burris died of his injuries.

Troopers said that no charges will be filed.
