Troopers say Desmond Jones, 18 was trying to pass a van on Radford Road, near Lucama, when the van driver turned left.

<b>WILSON, N.C.</b> — The state Highway Patrol was investigating a fatal motorcycle accident in Wilson on Thursday.

Troopers said the driver of the motorcycle was trying to pass a van on Radford Road, near Lucama, when the van driver turned left.

The driver of the motorcycle, Desmond Jones, 18, was killed by the collision. His passenger was transported by helicopter to Pitt Memorial Hospital. The person's name was withheld.

The driver of the van, James Ray Boswell, 51, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. His three passengers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Troopers had not said if they would file any charges were filed in wreck.
