Motorcycle crash on I-95 near Cumberland County leaves man dead

A motorcycle crash on I-95 South near Cumberland County has left a man dead.

The crash happened near mile marker 66 just before 3:00 p.m.

The State Highway Patrol said the driver of the motorcycle was riding with a group of other motorcyclists.

According to SHP, The driver took a sip from his water bottle and lost control of the motorcycle, slamming into a guard rail.

The driver was ejected from the motorcycle and CPR was performed, but the man was not able to be resuscitated and was pronounced dead at the scene.

SHP said speed is not considered a factor in the crash, but the investigation is ongoing.
