Mother's Day celebrated differently during pandemic
Mother's Day looks different this year. From zoom calls and virtual gatherings, to figuring out ways to be creative during Covid-19.
Posted — Updated"My mom lives in an independent living home," said Aniko Gaal, who wanted to make this Mother’s Day extra special for her 94-year-old mom.
With their masks on, Aniko pulled it off.
"One day she said I am so tired of feeling so imprisoned," Gaal said of her mother. "It’s a wonderful place but just not being able to get out, so I said, 'You know, for Mother’s Day, I am going to bring her outdoors.' We have our masks on, and we’re just going to keep our distance, but we’re going to be enjoying this day."
"In my 94 years, I never had that special of a Mother’s Day ever," Gaal's mother said.
Meanwhile, businesses across the state continue to struggle, specifically restaurants.
