GREENVILLE, N.C. — A South Carolina woman pleaded guilty Monday to killing her soldier daughter on Fort Bragg in February, authorities said.

Pfc. Autumn Michelle Shannon, 32, was found dead in her home, at 147 S. Dougherty Drive, on Feb. 22 after a neighbor called military police.

Her mother, Linda Hough Shannon, was in the house covered in blood, and military police said she confessed to stabbing her daughter with a kitchen knife during an argument. Prosecutors said Autumn Shannon suffered more than 150 stab wounds and cuts.

Linda Shannon, 51, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the case. Her sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 16, and she faces a maximum sentence of life in prison and a $250,000 fine.
