Mother of 1-year-old found dead in bathtub charged with neglect, her boyfriend with murder, Rocky Mount police say
A mother is charged with neglect and her boyfriend charged with murder after The Rocky Mount Police Department found a 1-year-old dead Sunday morning.

The child was found unresponsive at a home on the 600 block of Paul Street in Rocky Mount, according to the police.
They were then transported by ambulance to UNC Nash Healthcare.
"Despite life-saving efforts" the child died, Rocky Mount police said in a statement.
Police said Rome Tyler Ill had substantial bodily injuries, which led the Rocky Mount Criminal Investigation Division to charge Sierra Eley, 27, with felony child abuse.
Eley's boyfriend, Marcus Richardson, 30, is charged with first-degree murder and felony child abuse.
The North Carolina Medical Examiners' office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
