Mother Charged After Child Wanders Off
A Fayetteville woman was charged with child neglect Monday after her child wandered away from a babysitter's home, police said.
Posted — UpdatedCandice A. Council, 20, of 511 Edwards St., dropped the boy off at the babysitter's home in the 600 block of Campbell Avenue Monday morning but never woke the babysitter, police said.
The child walked out of the home after the mother left, and the babysitter was unaware the child had been left inside the residence, police said.
Officers found the child wandering the neighborhood at about 10:45 a.m., and they located Council about 45 minutes later, police said.
The child was unharmed during the incident, police said.
