Mother and child killed in Wilmington attack
A mother and child are dead following a violent attack in Wilmington on Sunday morning.

WILMINGTON, N.C. — Police say a man has been arrested after a woman and child were killed outside an apartment in Wilmington.
Authorities told local media outlets that another woman and child were injured in the attack around 6:30 a.m. Sunday and taken to the hospital.
The names of the 35-year-old mother and the 1-year-old girl killed inside a car have not been released.
Police say they arrested the man, and he threw a gun as they asked him to show his hands.
The suspect's name has not been released.
Investigators are trying to figure out why the man attacked the woman and children.
