I shared details about the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences' virtual Groundhog Day event yesterday. Well, not to be outdone, Garner also is planning to put its annual event, starring Snerd the groundhog, online.
At noon, Feb. 2, the Garner Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources' Facebook page will premiere the town's Groundhog Day video.
The video will start with Garner Mayor Ken Marshburn sharing Snerd's prediction. That will be followed by a program by CLAWS, a nonprofit that rehabilitates wildlife, rescues exotic pets and educates us all about them.
The town also is sharing some fun facts about Groundhogs on its Facebook page, including this: Groundhogs have 22 teeth, and 18 are used for chewing.
