Virus trends continue to improve in NC — The state's coronavirus metrics continue to improve, with 2,156 new infections reported Sunday and 1,466 on Monday. The latter is the lowest one-day total since early November. Fewer than 1,500 people are being treated for COVID-19 in North Carolina hospitals, the fewest since mid-November.

More than dozen people homeless after apartment fire in Raleigh

Raleigh, N.C. — Officials say 15 people are without homes after an apartment building fire in the 6500 block of The Lakes Drive in Raleigh Friday.

Investigators say the fire at Willow Creek North apartments started on the third floor and impacted 11 apartment units. It took 26 firefighters 15 minutes to gain control of the blaze.

Nobody was injured and the cause still under investigation.
