More than 200 without power in Durham after truck hits power pole
More than 200 customers in Durham are without power Tuesday in the area of Fayetteville Street.
Posted — UpdatedDURHAM, N.C. — More than 200 customers in Durham are without power Tuesday in the area of Fayetteville Street.
According to officials in Durham, the 4100 and 4200 blocks of Fayetteville Street are closed due to a traffic crash involving a power pole.
Riddle Road is also closed between Fayetteville Street and N.C. Highway 55.
Officials said the crash occurred when the raised bed of a dump truck caught several power lines and then hit a power pole. The dump truck left the scene of the crash before officers arrived.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
