GARNER, N.C. — More than 2,500 customers were without power Tuesday morning in Garner, according to Duke Energy.

At 6 a.m. Duke Energy's outage map showed 2,716 customers in the dark in the area of Vandora Springs Road. By 7 a.m., power had been restored to 1,300 customers, and by 8 a.m., only 500 were without power.

The outage is due to a tree that knocked down a power line near Garner County Club on Old Stage Road, Duke Energy crews said.

Traffic lights at Vandora Springs Road and Timber Drive were temporarily out.
