More than 120 NC National Guard soldiers return home from Middle East

The North Carolina National Guard welcomed 120 soldiers back home Saturday after a year-long deployment to the Middle East.

MORRISVILLE, N.C. — The North Carolina National Guard welcomed 120 soldiers back home Saturday after a year-long deployment to the Middle East.

The soldiers, part of the 30th Armored Brigade Combat Team (ABCT), were in the Middle East in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and Operation Spartan Shield.

National Guard leaders were waiting at Raleigh-Durham International Airport to greet the masked soldiers and thank them and their families for their service to state and nation.
