RALEIGH, N.C. — Rain will be possible at anytime on Monday, and Tuesday will be more of the same, according to WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner.

Most of the viewing area will see rain this week, said Gardner, but showers wil be random and isolated. A few of the storms may appear quickly and produce very heavy downpours and storms with lightning.

According to Gardner, though most of the showers will move through the area at a fast pace, some isolated instances of flash flooding can't be ruled out.

"It is not going to rain across the viewing area all day," said Gardner. "What we will see are some pockets of rain, which could be very heavy."

The overall chance for precipitation Monday is 60 percent for Raleigh. That chance decreases overnight but goes back up in time for the Tuesday morning commute.

The wet pattern will stick around through the work week, with chances for rain each day. After Monday, the showers will be more hit-and-miss, coming mainly in the late afternoons when the weather is hottest.

Skies will be cloudy each days, and temperatures will be a bit cooler than normal, with highs in the mid 80s.
