— The continuing drought has forced six Moore County towns to implement mandatory water restrictions.

Water consumption limits began Tuesday in Pinehurst, Seven Lakes, Love Grove, Pinewild, McLendon Hills and West End.

People can no long water lawns, trees, shrubbery or golf greens. Refilling pools is also prohibited.

The goal is to reduce water usage by 50 percent.
