Moore County Sheriff Seeking Teen Accused of Murder

Sheriff's officials said they hold warrants for James Allen Hammonds, 17, for one count of murder, one count of felony robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Moore County Sheriff Seeking Teen Accused of Murder
CAMERON, N.C. — The Moore County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday that its officers were looking for a teen accused of murder.
Sheriff's officials said they held warrants charging James Allen Hammonds, 17, with one count of murder, one count of felony robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The charges are related to a homicide reported to the sheriff’s office on May 24 in Cameron.

Sheriff’s deputies located the body of Jonathan Elee Grice, 27, of 305 Baker Road, wrapped in a car cover, behind the residence. The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.

Jessica Denise White, 24, also of 305 Baker Road, and Albert Devonte Brown, 26, of 240 Brookside Road, Pinehurst, have already been charged. Both were being held in the Moore County Detention Center without  bond.

Hammonds should be considered armed and dangerous, according to sheriff's officials. Anyone with information about his whereabouts wais asked to call the Moore County Sheriff’s Office at 910-947-2931.
