ROBBINS, N.C. — A 63-year-old Robbins man died in a single-vehicle wreck near his home in Moore County Thursday evening, state troopers said.

James Melvin Oxenden's vehicle ran off the right side of the westbound lane of George P. Road, near High Falls, around 5:20 p.m., troopers said. Oxenden over-corrected, and his vehicle struck a tree and a fence.

Oxenden was killed in the wreck, troopers said. No other injuries were reported.

The wreck occurred about 1½ miles from Oxenden's home.

Troopers said that alcohol was not involved in the wreck and it wasn't clear if weather was a factor.
