Moore County man faces 30 sex, assault charges
A Moore County man faces more than 30 sex and assault charges in connection with the alleged abuse of at least two young girls, according to the sheriff's office.
Posted — UpdatedInvestigators believe that Charles Andrew Furr, 33, of 121 Digger Drive in Vass, abused a 12-year-old and a 15-year-old girl, Capt. Richard Talbert said.
Jail records show that the sheriff's office first filed charges against Furr in February 2010, and the most recent batch of charges was filed on May 5.
All together, Furr faces nine counts each of sexual battery and indecent liberties with a child, eight counts of assault on a female and one count each of statutory rape, attempted statutory rape, attempted statutory sexual offense and assault on a child under age 12.
He was being held in the Moore County jail Thursday under a $550,000 secured bond. He was set to appear in court July 5.
