Monday was a quiet day at the General Assembly.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Monday was a quiet day at the General Assembly.

House budget conferees gave a presentation similar to the one they gave reporters on Friday. Word is that Senate budget conferees may be working on a new budget offer.

Senators rejected the House’s version of the coal ash bill, in part because the measure allows the state Department of Environment and Natural Resources to give Duke Energy some leeway regarding the timeline for cleanup.
