Momma bear, 3 cubs spotted asleep in tree in eastern NC
A momma bear and her two cubs were perched up on at the top of a pine tree in downtown Winton on Friday afternoon.
Posted — UpdatedWINTON, N.C. — A momma bear and her three cubs were perched at the top of a pine tree in downtown Winton on Friday afternoon.
Residents of the small town gathered around the tree to peer at the family trying to get a little shut-eye at the end of Main Street.
Ivonee Brown, who lives near Winton, said this is the first time she's ever seen a bear in that area.
"The mother was stretched out on a limb, like she was taking a nap," Brown said.
Locals say the bear family has been there all morning.
