Mom killed, 3-year-old wounded when bullets fired into Greenville home

— Bullets fired into a home struck a 20-year-old mother and her 3-year-old son on Wednesday in Greenville.

At 9:25 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a reported shooting at the residence located at 2004 Long Drive.

Upon their arrival, deputies discovered 20-year-old Marshavla Pasley unresponsive, with lifesaving measures being attempted. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her 3-year-old son was also hit. He was taken to Vidant Medical Center, where he is currently being treated, according to officials.

The investigation revealed that multiple shots had been fired into the residence from the outside, striking both mother and son.

Raeshon Peoples, who had also been inside at the time, was not injured.
