RALEIGH, N.C. — The driver of a concrete-mixer truck was charged Tuesday after the truck overturned near downtown Raleigh, police said.

Damion Lee Spooner, 30, of 315 Georgetown Road in Raleigh, was charged with exceeding a safe speed, according to a police report.

A Southern Equipment Co. mixer truck was southbound on Capital Boulevard when it went out of control on an S-curve as the road turns into Dawson Street, police said.

The truck flipped onto the driver's side as it slid across the road and came to rest on a sidewalk, police said.

There were reports of traffic delays in the area, but there were no reports of any injuries.
