NEWLAND, N.C. — A 70-year-old Avery County woman was found entombed in concrete, in the basement of her home, officials told WCNC.

Lynn Gay Keene has been reported missing since June 14, the sheriff's office said.

Her car was found abandoned in Cherokee, with the keys inside. After finding the car, the Avery County Sheriff's Office obtained a search warrant for Keene's home.

When they got to the basement of her home, they found her remains cemented in concrete. Through dental records, the body was confirmed to be that of Keene's.

Her cause of death was ruled a homicide, officials said.

Authorities say Keene's live-in caretaker is the main suspect in her death. Elizabeth Freeman, from South Carolina, is 5 feet and 4 inches tall, with shoulder length blond hair.

Officials have not yet found Elizabeth, who is wanted on charges of larceny of a motor vehicle, financial card theft, and identity theft.
