Missing Durham man last seen at hospital

Durham police were searching Tuesday night for Don Marlowe Jeffers, 56, who is believed to be cognitively impaired.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police were searching Tuesday night for Don Marlowe Jeffers, 56, who is believed to be cognitively impaired.

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for Jeffers, who was last seen at the Durham VA Hospital, around 9:20 p.m. Authorities believe he could be headed to the McDonald's restaurant, 916 Corona St., in downtown Durham.

Jeffers is black, with long, red hair and brown eyes, 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 165 pounds. He was last seen wearing a denim jacket, blue jeans, a blue T-shirt with a bird design on the front and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police at 919-560-4601.
