DURHAM, N.C. — A 9-year-old girl has been found after a two day search in Durham

For a second day, family members and police officers searched for the girl who was reported to have run away from her Durham home.

The family of 9-year-old Gabriella McMillian told WRAL News she has been found. She is believed to be ok and safe.

Family members said Gabby has run away before but has never been missing overnight.

"She’s had a difficult life and has a difficult time, sometimes, processing some of her emotions,” a family member told WRAL News.

Neighbors, family, friends and police searched in the Croasdaile Farm neighborhood in NW Durham Monday for a missing child.

On Monday afternoon, dozens of people joined the search at the corner of Foxwood Place and Trailwood Drive in Durham and planned to search until dark. In another post on social media, a different cousin asked residents of the area to check home security video for signs of the child.

WRAL News is working to gather more information.
