ARCHER LODGE, NC — A Johnston County school bus crashed Friday morning on Covered Bridge Road and Murphy Drive near the Archer Lodge Fire Department.

Officials said the bus was headed for Corinth Holders High School with 13 students on board. One student was taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries, and the bus driver was transported due to neck pain.

Johnston County Public Schools were under a two-hour delay on Friday but did not close like other schools in the viewing area. Officials said the crash did not appear to be weather-related or the fault of the bus driver.

At least two other cars appeared to be involved.

WRAL News has reached out to officials for more details.
