Morning lows will be in the mid-50s, and temperatures will climb into the 70s throughout much of the state. Thunderstorms are possible, and winds could be 10 to 20 mph.
As a cold front moves in Friday from the southwest, it could bring strong storms, Maze said, including rain and stronger winds. While the front brought severe weather to Texas, the Triangle is at a lower risk for such storms.
The weekend is expected to be cooler but sunnier, with highs in the low to mid-60s Saturday and Sunday.
