RALEIGH, N.C. — Two men who fled from Wake County deputies Tuesday, leading to traffic back-ups on Interstate 40 through Raleigh, have been charged in three area burglaries, authorities said Wednesday.

Adedus McNair, 32, of 5229 Raynor Road in Garner, and Gregory Cleary, 36, no address available, were each charged with felony breaking and entering and larceny, misdemeanor breaking and entering, larceny of a motor vehicle, larceny of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of burglary tools.

The charges stem from break-ins in Raleigh, Apex and Knightdale on Tuesday, authorities said.

Deputies stopped a vehicle matching the description of one linked to the burglaries on I-40 at Avent Ferry Road Tuesday afternoon, and the two occupants jumped from the vehicle and ran, authorities said.

The state Highway Patrol helped deputies search the area for the men. One was apprehended quickly, and the second was captured after about an hour.
