Men charged in northwest Raleigh slaying

Officers have arrested two suspects in the shooting death of 32-year-old man in northwest Raleigh Saturday night, police spokesman Jim Sughrue said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Officers have arrested two suspects in the shooting death of 32-year-old man in northwest Raleigh Saturday night, police spokesman Jim Sughrue said.

David Eric Moses, 45, of Raleigh,and James Harold Courtney III, 43, have been charged with murder in the shooting death of James Carol Deberry, 32, at his 5952 Shadetree Lane home around 9 p.m. Deberry died after being transported to WakeMed.

Sughrue said the shooting was not random. He could not confirm the relationship between the victim and suspect.

Moses was being held in the Wake County Jail Sunday without bond. Courtney, who was arrested late Monday, was being transported to the Wake County jail.
