Men charged in daylight shooting in Apex

Two men have been charged one week after a man was shot in broad daylight in Apex.

APEX, N.C. — Two men have been charged one week after a man was shot in broad daylight.

On Aug. 11 around 1:30 p.m., a 42-year-old Raleigh man was shot in the 600 block of W. Chatham St., close to downtown Apex.

The man was able to provide a statement to officers before he was transported to a local hospital, police said.

Terrell L. Davis, 23, from Selma, and Chigozie I. Nnochiri, 39, from Raleigh, were each charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The cause of the shooting has not been determined, and an investigation is ongoing.
