Raleigh, N.C. — Friday morning brought some of the coolest temperatures of the fall so far, but shifting winds will bring warmer afternoon temperatures and, eventually, weekend rain.
According to WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze, Saturday will be much warmer than Friday, with highs in the mid to low 70s. Highs on Sunday will be milder again, in the 60s.
The rain will begin to move in during the late afternoon on Saturday, said Maze, but not everyone will see showers on Saturday.
"Sunday morning will be the best chance for rain," said Maze. "The entire day won't be washed out, and there may even be a little sunshine by the afternoon."
Saturday night and Sunday will bring more widespread storms, and the rain could linger until Sunday evening.
The forecast models differ on when exactly the rain will move out on Sunday, but events like the Wake Forest Food Truck Rodeo should expect to see some wet weather.
Temperatures will be chilly again on Monday morning, according to Maze.
